GREAT HARWOOD

Charter Fair

In 1973 the Great Harwood Civic Society revived the event for one day.
There was a procession from the Plough Inn, Queen Street was lined with
stalls and many people dressed in Victorian costume for the occasion.
The success of this day prompted repeats every year the "crying" took place on a Sunday.

again in 1994, when a Festival Week of events was also organised,

and then the Millennium Charter Fair which was actually on the 20th August.
