In the name of god Amen the 27th day of January In the seacond yeare of the raigne of our gracious soveraigne Lord Charles by the grace of god kinge of England Scotland France and Ireland defender of the faith one thousand six Hundred twenty six I Grace Mercer of great Harwood in the County of Lancaster Widdow beynge sycke in body but whole in mynd of good and perfecte remembrance I give god thanks. I the said Grace Mercer doe make ordeine promise and declare this my last Will and testament in manner and forme followinge, - That [ ] to [ ] first and principally I give and bequeath my soule into the hands of Almighty god my maker, Redeemer and saviour by whose merits death and passion I trust to be saved my body to Christyan buryall. For my Worldly Estate I give and bequeath in manner and forme followinge, - Viz. First I give and bequeath unto Edward Mercer my yongest sonn six pounds which oweing me by William Mercer of Symonstone or the leasse of one Close which I have for warranty. Item I give bequeath unto the said Edward Mercer and John Mercer my sonns nyne pounds which owinge me by Robert Flecher of great Harwood or one Close which I have for warranty to be equally devided betwyst them. Item I give and bequeath unto the said John Mercer my sonne one Close called the wood or Carr which I have taken of Robert Squire my brother lawe for twoe yeares and five pounds which my sonne John oweth me. Item I give and bequeath unto Henery Ryley my sonne in lawe six pounds which he oweth me. Item I give and bequeath unto Alexander Mercer my sonne one great Arke standinge in the further Chamber called the meale Arke and malte Arke and one [ ] table. Item I give and bequeath unto the said Alexander Mercer my sonne one Fethertbed which lyeth of his Bed. Item I give and bequeath unto John Mercer one feather bed which he lyeth on. Item I give and bequeath unto Edwad Mercer my sonne 30s in lewe of his bed. Item I give and bequeath unto Elizaabeth Ryley my daughter one fether bed with boulster and one pillowe which lyeth of my bed. Item I give and bequeath unto Ellin my son Alexanders wife my side sadle with furniture thereunto belonginge. Item I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Mercer daughter of my sonn Alexander one little truncke with my best suite of linen Clothes. Item I give and bequeath unto Grace Ryley daughter of Henry Ryley my sonn in lawe one little Coffer with one other suite of linen Clothes best next the [ ]. Item I give and bequeath unto the said John Mercer my sonne my best yorne to make hym Clothes. Item I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Ryley my daughter my purple yorne. Item I give and bequeath the rest and remainder of my Clothes Woollen and linen unto Ellin Mercer my daughter in lawe and Elizabeth Ryley my daughter equally to be divided betwixt them. Item I give and bequeath unto John and Edward Mercer my sonnes either of them one pare of Lombes. Item I give and bequeath unto the children of Alexander Mercer my sonn 3s 3d a peece. Item I give and bequeath unto the children of Henry Ryley my sonn in lawer 3s 3d a peece. Item I give and bequeath unto the children of Robert Squire my brother in lawe 3s 3d a peece.Item I give and bequeath unto John Holker of Read my nephew ten shillings. Item the rest and remainder of my goods, debts, Cattells, Chattells moveable and unmoveable (any debts and funeral expences beinge first discharged out of that) I give and bequeath unto Alexander, John and Edward my sonnes and Elizabeth Ryley my daughter equally to be devided amongst them. Item I doe Constitute ordaine and make the said Alexander Mercer my sonn sole executor of this last Will and testament trustinge that he will see the same performed as my trust in him. In witness whereof to this my last will and testament I have putt my hand and marke and seale the day and yeare first above written.
