GREAT HARWOOD

Memorial Park

The land given by Messrs. Boardman, Pickup and Thompson to the west of the Garden of Remembrance was landscaped, trees and shrubs were donated and a park produced.

The Budgie Hut

Bugie hut and setting sun
It might not look much but I spent many happy hours here. As I'm sure the budgies did.

A Tree
Big tree and setting sun
Not a special tree. I just like the way the setting sun catches the leaves.

Church Lane
Church Lane and conker trees
August 2000 from almost the same place as the Remembrance Day 1949 shot.

Lawns and flower beds
There wouldn't have been grass cuttings left on the lawns when I was a lad.More lawns and flower beds

I used to sledge down this hill. The trees have grown since so I hope the children now have better control than I had.

Pendle Hill
Pendle in the distance
Not good but if you can just make out a hazy shape like a cloud in the background that's it.
(I'll get a better one sometime. Then on the other hand ......... maybe not)

Looking out to Read
Hill beyond Read
An outrider of Pendle. Well I think it's a nice view.
